This is getting serious

In finishing up an assignment mode I skipped a day of 100 burpees. Day 3, I did 70 burpees only. Cant remember the reason, why I stopped there. I did realise, all exercise is a matter of getting to comfortable counting too and breathing too, because you slow down and focus on it.
I started researching if 10000 burpees can be done?
Well, the world record holder did it in 48 hours.
The lesson from his is to do it in sets of 250.

Other people who have taken up the challenge have either extended the time to say 10000 burpees in a year
or 1000 in a month.

If I were to do it in a month, I have to extend my current 100 to 300 in a day.

Jeff Haden has a good article about 5000 pushups. How the set size keeps decreasing and the rest time keeps increasing when you do them all at once. Over a long period of time, he did 100000 pushups. you read it right.

Another improvement that you see over time is that you are able to do more eahc day in the same time.

All good things right.

5 Things calming me down now

I am over the hump of acceptance of change. I am already looking forward to it. the day where we give corona virus a send off party.

Day 2 - 100 Burpees

I cannot believe that 100 burpees has become a daily thing now. I have added the plank from the first burpee. Got done in about 16 minutes. I could feel the heart rate rising and heat in the face by the end of it.
Thinking of adding a table or the reverse plank.
I am loving Chris Heira's superhuman strength. My burpees ar enot explosive like his.

100 Burpees

You must have seen the I did 100 burpees a day workout. At around 30th burpee, I added pushups too. It took me close to 20 min. I did do them a bit slow.
I was able to do 5 count of copenhagen squat
While doing the plank, as I keep getting close to the 50 mark, I can feel the heat in the body. I should probably start feeling ok with that. I am trying to be mindful about breathing too.

squat to calf raise

My most favorite exercise in ufc fighter coronavirus home workouts is the squat to calf raise. Now is probably a good time for the progression to hollow body.

In how to handstand in a week, andrew explained safe ways to fall down, os you dont hurt yourself.

In beginner callisthenics, they say you should be able to do squat to handstand. Whn my daughter saw this, she wanted to do it too. She can already to cartwheels. When she ha a question about how to come out of the handstand, I told her about the coming down to a side. she preferred that over rolling over.

10 Deterrants to exercise

If you want free flow of exercise in your life, think of it in terms of traffic

1. Inadequate Planning - No Destination. No planning. No training. No sustainable goal.

2. Digestion tunnel - This tunnel is 3-4 hours long that you need your stomach for digestion. You cant avoid these tunnels. You have to be on the lookout for aligning your exercise time in tunnel free zones.

3. Too many ramp-ins and ramp-outs - If your schedule is errant and your diet is even more.

4. I dont feel like - If you need a break, take it.

5. Too tired - There will be some days like this.

6. Who needs to exercise - If you dont need it, you wont worry about it.

7. Traffic - Other things on top of mind. When we go through things in life, exercise could take a back seat.

8. Route novelty - If you need to do different kinds of exercise each day, have that research done earlier.

9.Lack of flexibility in the program - You will beat yourself up too much if you miss the slot of a predefined time which might not work everyday.

Avoiding exercise blackout period

Some days when you are pressed for time, then listen to the exercise scientists who say one 23 minute workout a week is nearly as effective as three.

Today was weird in that, between reading and hunger and cleanliness and exercise, I was torn. A dopamine hit from one task was supposed to be a good starting point for another. You know all these dependencies, where you will finish some mental activity like reading and then move onto another essential tasks before getting to the enxt section, where you need some break but ensuring that you dont get into the exercise blackout period.

The shorter the exercise time, the lesser effect of blackout period. Today while cooking pancakes, I was doing some huddle runs in between and the running side to side from another hiit.

In the rat race of hunger, study, exercise (cant grapple with too many things can we, oh the constant checking whats the latest news) skipped out of my mind. My plan was to go back to the incomplete exercises from the darebees.

When I saw this Brutal HIIT Ladder workout, I got right into it. I dont know if it was the urgency theme of the 20 min workout or wanting to getting done with it. Something about the Ladder too made it exciting. I did my best. In the end my face turned red.

Loved the toe touches between squats in the cardio warmup and flutter kicks in the later section.
Now time to get back to the external environment that a firm needs to study for maintaining its competitiveness.

Yoga at your pace

It is good to know that there are different kinds of poses

Standing poses
Balancing Poses
Backbends
Seated Pose
Resting or Supine

Its easier to categorize your mood for the day and then tackle the poses you are up for.
I knew I was ready for some seated poses not standing ones as much. Better for weekend.

I started off with Downward facing Dog. Then I moved to the boat pose. Toe squat ankle stretch pose which helps runners. reclining cow pose seems so experimental. Twisted Deer has that pose of a resting deer.
Twisting Boat pose would need you to be so in control.
A heart opening crescent moon lunge pose
Three-Legged downward facing dog pose

In a video Jerryteixeira showed 2 exercises to do for 5 mins. Squats all the way and push ups. When I did with all the muscles tightened, I could feel the heat in the body.

Today I was more in a la carte training mode than what Jason Rice calls "busy workout".

Orange theory at home workout

Did this today.
Orange Theory At-home workout Mar 25

The format is so different. My quads already feel it.

You have to use a trick to see the elapsed time. All the exercises to be covered in a sub block are displayed. As the timer keeps evading, you have to allocate your time as you have to keep exercising all of the subblock time.

I have not done cardio endurance with just 2 movements - jumping jacks and pop jacks alternating 3 times.

Felt the sweat at the back. Had one of those exercises where I could not be moved up at all. Whats exercise without a challenge.

HIIT time again

30 minute fat burning HIIT yesterday. It works for me, I should stick to it.

Today, a friend sent a F45 home workout. It was wonderful. Tough, but great. And for tomorrow it shall be the Orangetheory at-home workout.

Havent Heard of F45 Training before, but I will let the Triceps do the talk.
While doing the shoot-throughs, it was all so awkward. You see the people in the video, they do it so beautifully. The 4th time around, I felt like I was getting better at it.

The last week it was Chris Wilson's Dumbbell Domination from Critical Bench. Was it gold? For the next 2-3 days, I followed Newton's law of Inertia.  If I sat in the car, potty anywhere, I couldnt get up. When I was up, I could not get yself to sit. I loved every minute of those 10 exercises. Highly recommend.

How would you redesign something that has one element in it?

Take for example, the belt and the buckle. it stands in the center. One way is the symmetry principle, where you put two of them.
Are there other ways?

What other things could you redesign like this? All the ones that rely on the one and centre.

Tell me which team you support, I will tell you where you are from

When someone said they are from Kansas, I asked about the chiefs win in the superbowl. She then said that she supports bears because her adult life was there, that is where she lived by herself. She does support the local team but only when Bears are not involved.

Dennis Bergkamp,The Dutch Master says "“When you start supporting a football club, you don’t support it because of the trophies, or a player, or history, you support it because you found yourself somewhere there; found a place where you belong.”

These are my favorites of his quotes:

“Most of the time I was by myself, just kicking the ball against the wall, seeing how it bounces, how it comes back, just controlling it. I found that so interesting”

“Behind every kick of the ball there has to be a thought.”

When the author says that our history was shaped not just by  our own actions but also incidents as large as a tilt in the orbit of the Earth, the first thing that comes to mind is the earthquake. Is it intuitive that the faults will cause the plates to move? Pangea moving makes sense if the "Goldilock moments" of the river getting close to humans had to happen.

Lessons from Rabies

Anne Wiliams who scaled Toxin and Antitoxin for diptheria worked on solving Rabies too.

Detection being a major problem, Rachel Swaby writes that Williams looked for "flags the birus plants inside the body that can be used for early detection"

In Headstrong-52 women who changed science, Rachel Swaby explained how in the above mentioned procedure of developing the anti-toxin, a toxin is needed. They were having troubles in getting the toxin starter had a low yield.

It uses a solution mechanism already present in the nature.

Under the William H. Park's guidance, Anna Wessels Williams worked to produce a TAT . The hybrid of Toxin and Antitoxin is interesting. "The resulting mixture contained enough toxins to spur the body into creating its own defensive antibodies, but also enough antitoxin to protect the body while it developed those defenses."

In 2017, Safer antitoxin made with cell culture.

In the introduction. author Rachel Swaby calls for correcting cues given to girls at a young age about what theey're good at and what they're supposed to like.

Mary Jacobi Putnami removed barriers for woman in pursuit of science by disproving Clarke's thesis.

Anne Williams watching her sister's struggles with childbirth motivated her to learn science. You could call Anne the journalist of life, as she was interestd in "find(ing) out the what, why, when and where and how of the mysteries of life".

Alice Ball thinned a liquid and used catalysts, so an oil medicine could be absorbed by the body.

Michael Arad talks about actively imagining another world. While in creative world, this is about a world that no body else can see until you make it known to others. In the world of invention, especially if you ar problem-solving, the imagine dworld is known to all, only the process to get there would look different. Everyday, all the change makers are imagining a different world, a world that speaks and connects with many more.

Expressive Sketchbooks by Helen Wells

Expressive Sketchbooks by Helen Wells is a visual treat as well as a manual for bringing your creativity out. The artist caters well to both the I cant draw section of people as well as those artists who do not like what they have done. My little one has this issue too where I think she has done amazingly but probbaly she has high standards. There are many different exercises in the book that you can customise with your mood and color of the day. I like it that some of he remnants from others day work can be used as a collage another day. There's also a vase experiment that goes into different sketching styles. Mark making is fun too. If you read enough sketching books, you will have come across the experiemnts like drawing in a continuous line, drawing timed. Unleash your creativity in your safeplace - your sketchbook.
