Have you read about the halo band? I loved the movement health concept. Think about your everyday routine, to see if you are getting enough of different kinds of movement.



This week, some interesting thins I have learned about Hashimotos:

1. Spine health

If you know of any existing spine issues, connection between your thyroid issue and the spine health.
This is a possibility to consider if there is any help you can get from the micro movements and hence the overall movement health, to make sure that the brain is able to send all the signals properly to the central nervous system. More about c7 and thyroid connection.

2. The antibodies could be from other parts of the body

The only truly way to diagnose Hashimotos is to biopsy the gland itself. Tom Brimeyer, a functional medicine practitioner says, "the thyroid antibodies are found more frequently with rheumatoid arthritis". 

3. Reduce Antibodies by controlling blood sugar

Pharmacist Isabella Wentz provides us a clue that antibodies could be reduced by controlling the blood sugar. Its almost been a month since I have had sugar related energy crashes or snacking (sometimes I do want a savory taste when there's feverish feeling in the mouth. I could count these occurences using my fingers in the time span of a month)


4. Keto for women

Sara Gottfried in her book Women, Food, and Hormones: A 4-Week Plan to Achieve Hormonal Balance, Lose Weight, and Feel Like Yourself Again suggests a 4 week plan for keto for women to lose belly fat. You change the ratio of fat to carbohydrates and proteins,


5. Sideeffects of thyroid medication

When you start learning about Hashimotos and seeing symptoms of Graves, which is another surprise, that you could be raveling from one condition to its opposite in a day, it is possible that some of the conditions like swollen eyelids could be from the sideeffects of thyroid medication.

6. Pranayama for hormonal balance

My friend suggested breathing techniques like pranayam for hormonal balance. In the Hormone Bible's SHINE protocol, hormone balance is right after adequate sleep. 

7.  Thyroid and your gut
In Microbiome thyroid, :Restore Your Gut and Heal Your Hidden Thyroid Disease book, Dr Raphael Kellman has a 30 day plan of not just food, supplements but activities to ground you and calm you. This book also has some information on Non Thyroid illness syndrome.
