Tried to figure this rubik;s cube with the following video. I was able to get the plus or the cross sign, but after that since there are more complications in this picture, I couldnt follow the instructions as is from the classic one which has only colors. The other rubic cube we have is a Sudoku cube.
If you have patience to do one layer, here's a trick. Using maths to solve the rubik cube, at 17:36 in the TED talk, you can see how you can switch one edge piece and reverse those steps to put it all in order. The mathemagician says that at the most you need 20 moves to solve a rubik cube.
I loved the explanation in this video, especially the maneuvering with the reasoning behind it, instead of just algorithm of what to do.
