Mankind: The Story of All Of Us

When the author says that our history was shaped not just by  our own actions but also incidents as large as a tilt in the orbit of the Earth, the first thing that comes to mind is the earthquake. Is it intuitive that the faults will cause the plates to move? Pangea moving makes sense if the "Goldilock moments" of the river getting close to humans had to happen.
