Rookie mistake

It might seem like a rookie mistake, when you see an executive, who has been a CFO earlier to order more supplies, when there is lot of inventory. With little knowledge thats a no-no but remember any midpoint looks the same going up or going down.

There must be the behavior component or the ostrich burying its head in the sand, to not see whats going on or assume that the burning platform can still be saved. The speed at which things change or the interconnectedness of things (some Unintended consequences), that have been not considered might not leave much leeway.

"Which means you’ve got to anticipate what’s going to happen based on all the trends. You’ve got to look at the trends constantly, you know, read lots of signals." - Indra Nooyi.

Have a future back strategy and anticipate what going wrong might look like and steer ship.

IRA to employer sponsored 401k, IRA to HSA

It's important to plan carefully to avoid complications with the pro-rata rule, which determines how much of your conversion is taxable if you have both pre-tax and after-tax IRA balances. One way to streamline this process is to transfer pre-tax IRA amounts to an employer-sponsored 401(k) plan, keeping the Backdoor Roth strategy focused on after-tax balances.

Japanese and Telugu

While teaching kids Telugu yesterday, I was reminded how Telugu has vatthulu for the different secondary consonant sounds aka Glottal stop for each of the consonant while Japan has just the small tsu in Japanese.

Japanese has many counters.

Another Japanese Kanji book

Kanji & Kana: Handbook and Dictionary of the Japanese Writing System

This book shows related words, which will grow your muscle of trying to connect more with the roots of the words.

The other day someone who learned Arabic as a child. was asked if he remembered the word for "no exit" , I wondered why that special word. Next day, while dropping the kid at an event, at a construction site near by, I saw the

 No Exit Sin Silada sign.

Then it made sense.

no entry

Another language

I have realised that since starting learnign Japanese, I have also started to rely on better vocabulary. I used consumable representation and then looked up those in Japanese. When I come across haiku in English, I am looking up how that would look in Japanese. My best activity is paring down a sentence in a foreign language into words and see how they look in Japanese. You get to see the language structure.

Speaker with lights

Today at apuja, saw a speaker lined up against photo lights , with a sleight of eye or peripheral vision, I saw the speaker as if it had lights at a corner in a triangle. That seems like a cool idea that you get them both at once. There are disco light speakers already but the sound and lighting go together mostly. And one step further, make it trolley suitcase.
