This morning I was making semiya upma like many others days, but was getting behind the fast pacing childrens hunger.
In an effort to speeden up, I asked for help in various steps of it. Immediately the question came as to why I dont do mis-en-place when my kid needs to that when she is cooking. I have answered previous calls of help, similar to mine with mis-en-place's need and place in avoiding such a situation.
My jun-bi was being questioned but then I understood the circumstances. I would usually do the same cooking way back, without anyone's help. When my daughter does the cooking, usually she starts early, so there is no hurry. Today the stomachs were already hungry and I wanted to add more veggies, which was going to delay the start. Coming to mis-en-place, my sister follows that style and not me. All parenting is about guiding towards a known better way, not necessarily the parents.
Cooking without mis-en-place is doing heroic running around the kitchen, to save the curry. In dire situations, you get the others to run around for you. Maybe I am not showing the best way of cooking, but I am showing how to mange the worst of it. Building things in hurry with team work.
