From first date to Love Everlasting

May be the first date is a blind date where you have been paired with a gym activity - as a kid, I was asked to do jump rope/yoga or something that you have been wanting to do for a while like kickboxing.

How long should the first date be? You can start off with 10 min and then build it to 20 min, 30 min.

Power through. I have done many exercise videos on Popsugar fitness, that introduced me to Christa Di paoloMuay thai (I love thai food, looks like your favorite cuisine is a clue to the exercise that you might like).

Like 50 first dates, if you can bring on situational amnesia around your gym time, you can do 60 days of insanity

p90x of 90 days can get you to the big shiny century.

100 days of Love is a milestone. Celebrate your 100 days of gym love.

Soon you will find that your love for fitness is everlasting if you make everyday, Groundhogs Day.

One Day/ Day One

Psychologists say that there is an effect called Fresh start which can be used as a signal for transition from old to new habits. Another suggestion has been offered - Temptation pairing. Combine what you are trying to like with what you already like - gym with your audio/video treat. It helps to keep your eye on the prize as the perception of exercise is different for different people on how easy it is for them to accomplish it. The goal seems closer to those who think that they can achieve it. Its the Mirage effect that makes you get closer to the real water.

Pretium

When I first heard of price and value, it made an impact on me.
Pretium combines them both.

Impact of Architecture

Landscape Architecture Theory: An Ecological Approach

Who would have thought that architecture could influence so many aspects of life that we like.

The emotional impact of Architecture

Could architecture make you live forever?

The hidden ways stairs shape your life

What If...?: The Architecture and Design of David Rockwell

I have always been fascinated by stairs. Especially as kids we had these jumping games, where you could hold the side railing, but had to jump on the stairs down by skipping based on the number called out by the other player.
Sitting on the stairs too, gives a very different perspective of the leading and trailing steps. Even when you dont get a vantage point or a view, the mind registers the levels and probably thinks in gradations.

Everyone's watching it on a global scale.

Muay thai

This sequence of evolution, I am sure spins your own versions of it.

Muay Thai

What do you do when you have extra bursts of energy?

Since I was introduced to Muay Thai in STRONG by Zumba, I have been fascinated by it.
On a day with extra energy, I did thid video and really enjoyed it. I did the training 2 too. In the week, there was a day where I felt too tired, which was perfect that it came after the earlier bonus workouts.
Reverse plank is a great challenge to aim to do it correctly. Keven spends a lot of time on stretches rightfully.

Total Body Makeover

Total Body Makeover

After doing the No equipment HIIT Wokout, I could feel that the obliques have been worked out. The jumping jacks where you cross your legs and moves your hands horizontally reminded me of the insanity mummy kicks where you move the hands horizontally but narrowly and legs dont cross or jump, but move forward.
There is pulsing for most of the movements, bring your Inner Ninja on.
I think I brought out my Inner Ninja too, cause for couple of movements, I did one more rep for a good measure.
I even did my own super modifications of raising a leg, while in the plank.
I had just done the 12 min jump rope workout, so it was funny when I had to do the invisible rope again. Remember sometimes how you feel when this is warmup, then how is the actual workout.. well, you will have that sense when the warm up ends.
Great workout. Go try it.

Globaloney

Redefining Global Strategy, with a New Preface: Crossing Borders in a World Where Differences Still Matter

Pankaj Ghemawat calls the difference between the actual globalisation and the perception of the people about it as Globaloney (a term first introduced by Clare Booth Luce).
In this TED talk, you can see how masterfully he paces his words, where the connecting sentences go fast but the content sentences go slow. This probably the first time I have been able to notice this difference, which will make me more cognizant while I write and deliver my speeches.

StairMaster

When you look at stairmaster, you might think that stepping on it and going forward is the only way to go.
One of the ways to step up your stepper activity is to go sideways.

When plans fall apart

I love it when a plan comes together

But mistakes and unfortunate things come together better.

Dont plan for all thigns to fall in place. its called wishing.
Plan for things to fail.

If you leave phone as the only way to reach you, let others know where you are, that way you plan for poor signals.

Finding Your Fit: A Compassionate Trainer's Guide to Making Fitness a Lifelong Habit

Finding Your Fit: A Compassionate Trainer's Guide to Making Fitness a Lifelong Habit

Write down your 'exercise bliss days' so you look forward to repeat those. For me it is when I do a new move like jumping jack jabs or add a challenge to a known one.

Trend positive is a good thought.

Follow the Water from Brook to Ocean (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)

Follow the Water from Brook to Ocean (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)

This book not only teaches kids about the various types of water bodies - brook, stream, river, ocean but also takes them on a trip - in a canoe and other things and all the animals that you will find on these trips.
As a kid when I visited a dam, I was overwhelmed and scared by the amount of water. With examples of grand Canyon, Colorado and snowy mountains, there are some discussion points for further questions.

Energy Makes Things Happen (Rise and Shine) (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)

Energy Makes Things Happen (Rise and Shine) (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)

This conversational and observational book will make you eternal questioner, ask even more questions. Without the names of kinetic and potential energy, all the examples have been provided. Seeing solar, wind energies at work puts kids right in the real world situations of our source of fuels. Looking at fire at a camp or glass of milk as fuel for body are good ways of making kids think about applying the concepts they learn to their daily activities.

Let's Go Rock Collecting (Let'S-Read-And-Find-Out Science. Stage 2)

Let's Go Rock Collecting (Let'S-Read-And-Find-Out Science. Stage 2)

This book gets you serious about rock collecting. It gives you an idea of where you can store the rocks you collect. Long time ago, when a relative visited Bombay, he brought home some rocks as collectibles. They were very colorful and appetising as sweets. You learn about different kinds of rocks found in different places. Greek statues. Roman cobble streets. Pyramids of sandstone. When you see granite, mabrle and other pictures of rocks, you can point your kids to the examples of where you can find them.
I like how this book steers kids to bigger, complex concepts of architecture under the easy pathof simple rocks.

In the Rainforest (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)

In the Rainforest (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)

This book gives you a very good idea about what to expect in a rainforest. It gives you a good detail pn the different kinds of trees and animal species that you will find there. Epiphytes. Understory, Emergent story. Marching Ants.
