Can cargo cars without humans skip any safety costs?

Are there any advantages to be had with automated driving in terms of safety costs that are to be incurred when a person drives.

How much of it is from driving versus people in a car and outside the car? Cargo deliveries with no people in it can look at some of these kind of savings. For eg no need of dual or any air bags.

Would displaying speed of the car on the back side reduce rear ends? Similar to center high-mounted stop light that flashes rapidly in a panic stop

Safety features are adding to the repair costs.  The road to total does not is not paved with just the machinery parallel path is the repair cost of a weaker path. How are Mercedes and BMW saving their repair dollars? A slow motion video of a pyrotechnic seat belt pretensioner activating.

Cost to assemble vs cost to repair is an interesting aspect.
