Wow pictures

Few interesting things that I learnt from reading this book:

The beautiful marble work in Tajmahal, which looks like a painting to a layman is 'Pietre Dura'.

Islam forbade depiction of humans and animals in architecture design. This makes us see why there is not much of structures with human forms like in European architecture.

 This book reminds me of The Elves and the Shoemaker
I didnt know of any brownies other than the ones made to eat until I read this book. These brownies are adorable with their shiny huge buttons which seem magical. The indefinite forms in the illustrations are as mind bending as the acceptance of the brownies existence.
The pages are very engaging. the vines and the cobbled cottages will have you not just counting but story telling and describing.

Author Martin Blaser has used good foreshadowing techniques to maintain the interest of reader in his journey of H Pylori research and results. I do not think the appendix in any book has interested me so much that I had to maintain a bookmark for the appendix too while reading the book.
