Poetry Tables: How to Create Profound Experiences of Courage, Connection, and Community Using Poetry
While looking for poetry for coaching book, I came across this book poetry tables book, where in small group of 3-5, participants read some poems on their own and then select one to share as to why it means so much to them.
I love etymology poems. eg Vikings window Carl philip poem. I need to research more about avis to auspicious. I was wonderign about Japanese etymology. Kids have been telling me about the Rose & Bruno Mars apato song and that apato means apartment.
It is amazing how different people get different things out of a poem. I saw a set of lines Seamus Heaney poem in The survival of the sickest book and was curious about the rest of the poem. Turns out that this is towards the end of the poem but another enthusiast found meaning in another section of the poem. It is interesting that the poet has this magic of connecting with different set of people through the same poem.
It might be these kind of lessons that some of the Poetry Table participants go home with. The elephant and the four blind men.
