Zero area, set of measure zero

 In the most extreme case, three points in line with one another form a triangle with zero area.

I would have thought that if you found that in the strip with two points, if the third point is on the line then since you cant draw a triangle, you just discard the points and move onto the next.

Oh wow.. imagine an infinite sided polygon whose points all fall onto a line.

They have a special name --- Degenerate polygons
