Young Makers Build Telescopes and Space Stations.
"You made a 3D model out of a paper" exclaimed my kids. The Hubble telescope model grew out of my fascination of another astronomer's model which I saw in Christian Ready's video. NASA website has the models for these giant instruments. As I was making these models, following instructions, I realised I could interact better with the constituent parts and understand how all the components got there to make these very useful telescopes. We have models of James Webb Space Telescope and Hubble Telescope. We also plan to have an International Space Station module by the Southwest Maker Faire time.
Q&A is encouraged from all the interested makers. The aim of this exhibit is to make STEM accessible to all and introduce makers to the joy of modeling.
