My grandmother used to joke that, if we needed to find something missing in the house, we had to go look for it in the stable, where my grandfather would gather everything that would turn into compost for his fields. Imagine this archaelogical midden as that heap of trash built over ages.
Who doesnt want to find a 65 million year old triceratops skull?
Kids learn the organized way of digging with a matrix and grid approach. They learn how finer implements are needed to dig smaller things. For example, a shovel would damage an awl.
