Saint Helena and the True Cross
18 August is the feast of St Helena, mother of Constantine, who according to legend found the True Cross. Medieval writers claimed she was from Britain, daughter of King Coel of Colchester. Today she's said to be the patron saint of archaeologists.https://t.co/BFVxpPZfxA f. 184 pic.twitter.com/6bssTOQMCT— Eleanor Parker (@ClerkofOxford) August 18, 2018
