Sewing for Kids

Sewing For Kids: 30 Fun Projects to Hand and Machine Sew

From last few days, kids have been playing with their old shirts. Painting on them. Cutting them in shapes. When they were arguing about something and throwing the scissors down, way too many times, I told them that we could make dresses for their dolls.
It involves sewing. I have always told kids to stay away from needles. Lunch ensued. Play time with friends and so on. Finally it came back to sewing.
I started showing the sewing to my older daughter and her friend. It was a plush dog. Once it got repaired, I thought that would be it. They went it and got few more toys that needed fixing. Meanwhile younger one needed to be involved too. We made a dress for her doll, taking turns in stitching. By then, the older ones got done and found more toys to fix. The younger one wanted to get a second turn too. Then we found another doll dress and modeled our second doll dress stitches based on it.
It was a fun day. After dinner, they wanted to sew again. It is funny how when kids enjoy something, they come up with reasons to continue the fun.
