What happens to body during a 24 hour fast
Last week I saw this video and learned that hunger comes in waves. I didnt think that I would be doing a 5 hour window eating and a 24 hour fast in a week of that.
What helped me do this was pay attention to my body. In the last month, I have upped my protein and fat intake which made me lose all the snacking and energy crashes.
I read somewhere that you should be able to go 3 to 6 hours without eating to be able to fast. Get yourself fat adapted to feel less hungry between meals.
Next prep is for 36 hours, when the time is right.
At 7:44 you see the hunger going down and the waves picture. If you watch it further, you also see graphs for how hunger decreases over longer fasting periods and how this works for both men and women.

I have become fat adapted in the last month. I have stopped snacking. Dr. Berg suggests adding fat to the meal if you want to stop snacking.
Having the same meals in the last month made me notice something about my body. When I had my lunch about 30-45 min later than usual, I was having diarhea. Found out from a friend that it could be a side effect of intermittent fasting. I then figured that I am one of those body types where I need 18 hours of fasting. With this in mind, yesterday I had my lunch at 12:30 and dinner at 4:00. Viola. I ate in less than 5 hour window. After watching many videos of Dr Berg, I came up with the idea to do a 24 hour fast. Its going great. I feel like I could push this further, but I better take it slow. Do the 24 hour fasts once a week for a month or two and then ease into the 36 hour fast.

Great video on how often should you do intermittent fasting. I had this question yesterday, if I should do half of the week intermittent fasting, turns out that its better to do it daily. Dr. Berg suggests adding fat to the meals so you dont snack in between meals, dont feel hunger between meals. And OMAD or one meal a day when possible on alternate days.

I love this book. Having recently been diagnosed with Hashimotos, I knew this book would speak to me. Theres a detail about NTIS - Non thyroid Illness syndrome, which I havent heard of before. Many more details about microbiome health and how to cure thyroid with a good gut. Recently I heard Dave asprey takes glutathione injections. You will find out which foods contain that. Lots of info on the symptoms and case studies of people with different types of thyroid dysfunctions.
