Portrait of an artist as a funny man

Ham: Slices of a Life by Sam Harris

I have never heard of Sam Harris before. When the book reads as 'essays and stories about friendship, celebrity, growing up and getting sober'. Celebrity is too off-putting and the rest of the terms are too general. But they are 'Essays' and that made me open the book. One of the initial chapters about a marriage with whose name cannot be mentioned
was that hump of celebrity essay and beyond that I just appreciated the author as a child artist, an artist and a biographer.
In the path of celebrity, his essays had to include celebrities. In this book he tried on several hats. he seemed larger than life like Bill Murray with his cloak on Letterman. And then he is an everyday dad trying to find matching interests with his son.
The author has an internal world and a very funny one at that. Liver essay.
For some essays the stage setting of why that essay is well done. You reach an aha moment where you realise why the last few pages were used up as not an end in itself but as an opener for another bigger show like his career moments singing as a curtain raiser for the Queen of Soul.
