Overcooking

You can never cook enough
As you make it
so is intake.

When a new combination
of veggies works
its fun.
So is watching a recipe.

But even armed with
a recipe
its tough to match
the need for cooking
that grows like a mushroom.

Somewhere between a bud and a bloom

When a peanut grows
It sends out leaves
in groups of four
The leaves growout at an angle.

When I saw its white tap root
stick into the ground
preventing me from just
snapping it from
the pot of earth

I knew that it wasnt any peanut
that could have gone
into cooked rice flakes
and ended up nowhere.

It belonged to the earth
like a magnet.

Undiscouraged, the imp in me
split the seed in half
with skin still hanging to each half

kidneys connected to the system.
only the water goes in
to these kidneys.
and they grow by splitting.
An unlike fusion.

Where on earth

Do you find people
lying on the road
in the way of bicycles
to be hit
so they can get a
smooth ride
on the snow

Fragrant trail

A puzzling perfume from the V of my hand
Is it the same one from work?
When I fold my hands under the armpits
against cold.. it figures

While reading " In the course of almost thirty years it has made a good start on the enormous task .. "(pg x) of Mortimer J. Adler's "Six Great Ideas", the combinatin of the long time and the huge effort implied in the words, stretched my memory, to recall a lunch I had in China at Shanghai Univeristy of Finance and Economics. More than the the food or its taste, the introduction to this event is in the currency conversion of its price to dollars and its worth.

Thinking of ideas like beauty, I am reminded of a narrow but tall room at Museum of Modern Art, NY, closer to one of the cafes.

Stationary travel

This morning, I saw a tall tree with part of it looking golden from the first rays of the sun. the way the sun was trying to seep into the tree reminded me of the scape from 'mowgli'.. where the jungle spans endlessly..
