Day 4 Exercise

the thing about military presses, to take them as higha s possible.
Athean shows how to do do incline press at home. And for the normal chest press at home, its called floor press.
Shoulder press better done with mirror. Pullover did a number on me. In some misunderstood land, I was not bringing it back all the way over and then I realised, I have to do it all over. Makes up for the non-logging of previous exercise where I forgot to unpause the watch. When it came to shoulder presses I stopped the watch as I was taking my sweet own time with breaks before I could complete the target. It took more than an hour with all the break before make. Overall it has been close to 1 hr 45 min with lots of breaks.

Day 2 Exercise

Lat pulldown alternatives

Enjoyed this day. Took about 49 min to do all the exercises. Had to do a bit of research too, for the moves. Couting macros is fun too.
Excited about tomorrow's.

Now walking first and then sitting when legs hurt. Finishing my exercise first thing in the morning, so it is not left to the powers be. Now the powers be adds to bonus. 
Its almost like reversing the default and thus by inertia accumulating the desired behavior. While your activity app might track that you stood for a few minutes each hour, imagine another hidden one in the background going, you have earned a sit hour.

I have started this program.

Day 1

When I looked at the machine exercises, I had a little doubt how this was going to go. Thanks to internet, there are lots of fun workouts out there.

I had to find good hamstring curl exercises. Hamstring curl with dumbbell was hard to weild with legs. But the other ones -  Standing Hamstring Curl, Seated Hamstring Curl, Prone Hamstring Curl, Hamstring curl with a ball. If you are wondering why these many varieties, when you have to do 400 of those, you will appreciate the variety. I didnt understand by looking at the picture of the one with the ball, it is hard to lift your mid section. Hopefully some day along the program.

ADDUCTOR - This is more fun than it sounds once you have this Adductor cheat sheet. While doing the lateral jumps, I was reminded of P90X. Side leg raises. Clamshells are fun. Standing lateral leg raises reminded me of a barre workout. Extended side angle pose takes some mental jujitsu too. There are so many more of these adductor exercise left, that I could accomodate these on the next adducto day.

This workout took me about  49 minutes. I had fun mostly because of the surprise variety. Most of the exercises are new to me.

When I saw the reverse side of the radio, I was just wondering about the art that could be in the back side which is not worked at to look pretty.

Has the way we look modeled our art world? If we could see all around us, then may be even the back side of the objects would have been made aesthetic. If we could see through and look from the other side into us, then we could see ourselves too. Would that have changed our perception, when we know what we look like…?

A Day with Calm


I do not know if it was the assurance of the calm art, intermittent cardio and strength, mini bouts of it. From the last couple of days, little too much work added to an uneasy feeling in the evening. Having time for yoga always feels like a luxury.Yoga always makes me feel conscious about my body in a good way. Spending time alone as a skill.

Day 1- 7/12
I was able to do uptil 35:20. I even went to 98% of my heart rate. Very fun workout. Lots of stretching. You breathe a lot as you would in yoga and concentrate on the breathing during stretching. Circuit one has repetition. The second time around, you feel ready for it as you know all the moves. In the exercise there are some lateral exercises. Ashley explains how at the gym, mostly we do the up and down but not many side exercises. I incorporated this into the next day's jog with side huddles.

Day 2 -7/13
Did strength training cirucit 1 for 4 min. Followed it up with Pilates. Great sense of calm. Weight and body fat % are going north even if inch by inch. But for now most important is Wellness and Activity.
Even in a sync meeting with colleagues this happened to be the topic we were stuck on. 
kids feel pandemic stress too. As adults, how connected should you you be to the external world. Distance and proximity. As much as you can handle being well.
More ways exercise helps brain with just one protein.

Resilience

Does anyone know who this is?

This is not any sheep. It is Chris the sheep who is also a record holder.

He went jumping over the fence and never came back to the farm. He survived in the wild but he reached a point where life became difficult and came back to the shears.

People have started looking for fables from this. What lesson can you learn?

We have always looked to our predecessors for answers during tough times. Animals who have been on earth longer than us. Even our stories in many cultures are based on animals. Chicken Little, Fox and the Crow and so on. Here goes another story.

In Gujarat, it was found that birds started eating fire. What they are after is not the fire but what lights the fire. The rich ghee which is clarified butter. This is a novel behavior. You can fill parts of the story that the birds are adapting to a new source of food. Its survival driven?

According to Allen Wilson who was a biologist at UC Berkeley, if an organization/species is to exploit their environment to their advantage, three things are needed. They should be able to move.

In 1920s when milk bottles were laid in front of the doors, they were open. Crème da la crème on the top. Birds of two kinds titmice and robins both had their share.

When the farms got wary they started putting on aluminium caps.

Now both the birds were able to pierce it, but the study found that few robins could do it while millions of titmice knew how to. Those bird they pierced and showed their friends too.

Todays jog

It was supposed to be a walk but it became a jog along with The Moment of Lift for 45 minutes.
Few Notable points

Having to come across some facts and data points many times to realise their significance.
What about my shot referring to a lady's visit for the depo shot and chugging along all kids.
Realisation that what needs to be done ahead might not be popular with church and others.
Gates a private person having to join public life.
Realising that more needs to be done.
Each time her scope increases. Earlier it was improving technolgy/vaccination access, then it had to be changed to all women causes.

Feel proud

Yesterday I did Intervalo Strength training.
Today I did 2 hours of wlaking. unbelievable right. I used to walk crazy like this before. Usually I am stuck to the computer reading something. lately it hasnt been working out too well for the "steps".
I was listening to Distant Mirror,Calamitous 14th-Century all the while. Same effect of reading/learning, increasing miles, minus the sitting message to store the cellulite.

Feel so brillaint about self.

Halfway between awake and asleep

Usually when I feel tired and cant function, I take afternoon naps over weekends. Today there is work that I am interested in but post heavy meal nothing makes sense than sleeping. But due to coldy symptoms, couldnt fall asleep. This is a metastable state which fortunately coffee could steer to the awake side.

The power of small gains

One ay I looked at one of the curves regarding the coronavirus and thought there was an error in the graph. How did the total come to 120000 when the highest was 20000. After a while I realised, if you add all the cases over a period of time, then you get to that number.

Now come to your workout situation. Somedays you may do great, on the others not so much. But a month is enough time to remove the variability and add up the small gains to a decent workout.

Made up for lack of exercise with ad hoc dance party.

HIIT




Lately I have done a fitness blender and enjoyed it. Had such high expectations from this and it surpassed by many degrees. It was tough but I loved it. Loved the structure of two main moves and then some more shorter moves.

Atherton twins

Atherton twins have a 10 for 10 workout. i did the enck and shoulders and was very impressed. I think I could feel it in the arms for two days. This followed by a 15 minute cardio core.

Cardio Flow

I did a 15 min cardio flow Maggie Binkley 7.0 version. Wonderful to snuggle a dumbbell between the back of your legs and do donkey kicks. Sill cant forget the jumping lunges by Nike Master.

The Mist on the Other Side




The vision is blurred. No thoughts clouding my eyes.Its the mist on
the other side.The lighter drops stuck to the glass and gave it a
smudged look.The heavier drops slipped down leaving a trail of smooth
nothing
and stopped when couldn't move any further.The trail, cleared patch
in the wilderness was not the way travelled only once.Cause once the
path was made , another drop followed the first drop but always never
reached as further as the first one.Just around the smooth path,on
either sides the pattern was fine. As one moved away, the granularity
increased.
With many heavy drops,formed many clear trails.Through the trail it
seemed like there was a glass.The trail and the pattern did not seem
to be on the same plane.I slid the window half open on to the outside
and felt the otherside expecting my hands to get wet.But dry glass
met my hands.The mist was on the other side of the glass.But the
window was double glassed with mist inside.Mist that can never be
cleared

The new social outing

Happened to know a day before that this was happening Betin Gozo Nike master this morning. Something about being there at the time, made it happen.
She had lots of energy. Easy moves in that you will want to do them, tough in that they will push you. Enjoyed the sweat. Good thing about these kind of exercises is that you slip into bathr ight away and get fresh. a totally different mindset.

Boil Milk

Today, I have been planting seeds for the 'boil milk' which is for yogurt. Today we are able to focus on that, because the meals for the day are covered. I made eggplant curry yesterday which will last till tonight. Lunch is turkey rolls.
Which is why, I am able to harp on the making of the accessory yogurt. Cooking involves so much planning. Stocking your pantry, getting the ingredients for the recipe and the recipe itself. If you all this how about the time and the mood and energy to cook? Finding time to cook is very much like finding time to exercise. Mainly ensuring that you dont fall into the blackout window trap. If you are too hungry, you cannot cook or exercise. If you are too full, then you are not thinking of food or exercise. But in a few hours, its the same existential situation of hunger driving you and your healthy decisions out of the window.

Burpees have taken a backseat but exercising is going good.
35 min HIIT with wrist weights. Another HIIT exericse day after this. 45sec of jumping jacks - 5 rounds.
