Wondering how novelists are made:
The form must attract the ind of people. Clubbing minor characters if you cant make them different. I was surprised when a retake of a movie combined 2 characters from the earlier movie into one. But knowing that this is how the characters are chosen, based on what they can do, makes the novel/movie writing like a puzzle.
It was funny to see a cricket fly high up and land down as a moth.
Probably flying has that magical effect. May be that is what we are shooting for when we jump on a trampoline. Shaking the bottle to see if we can conjure something new. A shake of disbelief and a shake of hope. Its the belief of impossibility that makes possibility a miracle.
Russells teapot A person who ask you to show how it works because they know/believe it wont.
A person who knows it will work but hasnt tried to know it doesnt. Shuttling netween these two is the one who gets it to work.
" Work doesn't just happen when you're trying to. There's a kind of undirected thinking you do when walking or taking a shower or lying in bed that can be very powerful. By letting your mind wander a little, you'll often solve problems you were unable to solve by frontal attack." -- How to do great work?
By the end of the day, I was in the middle of something. I took a break, dinner and some recreation. I thought of an edit that I could do and viola, there's results.
"The daydreaming has to be interleaved with deliberate work that feeds it questions." - Paul Graham.
A small but meaningful measure with courtesy stops allowed in the night.
When I was in highschool, I remember a scene where my dad asked the busdriver to stop a little, may be half mile after the busstop. It was in the night, so I can see why he would want that. I understand the bus driver's dilemma too if he has to stop at every such request.
Our parents want to keep us safe shuttling us between crucibles of safety.
It interesting how we learn about our world within those interactions.

Regulation in R & D phase vs incentives for safe AI being followed
1. Opacity could be reduced either directly by legislation requiring publication of the code and specifications of AI systems offered for commercial sale, or indirectly through tax incentives or tort standards that limit the liability of companies that make their AI systems more transparent.
