While trying to learn something, you might have realised that you are leaning into something else which you might not be interested in learning about right away or is taking you away from what is important for you to learn then. I magine a Venn diagram for the subject you are learning eg says sports economics. You will have to keep narrowing down from the sports side and the economy side, know their basics and fall into the intersection of it, to address your specific goal of learning about sports economics. Again the subsectors of different sports, regions and impact might take you in on a ride on different straits.
