StairMaster

StairMaster

When you look at stairmaster, you might think that stepping on it and going forward is the only way to go.
One of the ways to step up your stepper activity is to go sideways.

When plans fall apart

I love it when a plan comes together

But mistakes and unfortunate things come together better.

Dont plan for all thigns to fall in place. its called wishing.
Plan for things to fail.

If you leave phone as the only way to reach you, let others know where you are, that way you plan for poor signals.

StrategyMan vs. the Anti-Strategy Squad: Using Strategic Thinking to Defeat Bad Strategy and Save Your Plan

I have not come across GOST Framework before.
Great choice on going with a graphic novel. Funny characters and morphed names.
Huor is one of the best ways to engage audience/readers. Purpoisedon asks for a mop after having used his powers.

Finding Your Fit: A Compassionate Trainer's Guide to Making Fitness a Lifelong Habit

Finding Your Fit: A Compassionate Trainer's Guide to Making Fitness a Lifelong Habit

Write down your 'exercise bliss days' so you look forward to repeat those. For me it is when I do a new move like jumping jack jabs or add a challenge to a known one.

Trend positive is a good thought.

Follow the Water from Brook to Ocean (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)

Follow the Water from Brook to Ocean (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)

This book not only teaches kids about the various types of water bodies - brook, stream, river, ocean but also takes them on a trip - in a canoe and other things and all the animals that you will find on these trips.
As a kid when I visited a dam, I was overwhelmed and scared by the amount of water. With examples of grand Canyon, Colorado and snowy mountains, there are some discussion points for further questions.

Energy Makes Things Happen (Rise and Shine) (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)

Energy Makes Things Happen (Rise and Shine) (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)

This conversational and observational book will make you eternal questioner, ask even more questions. Without the names of kinetic and potential energy, all the examples have been provided. Seeing solar, wind energies at work puts kids right in the real world situations of our source of fuels. Looking at fire at a camp or glass of milk as fuel for body are good ways of making kids think about applying the concepts they learn to their daily activities.

Let's Go Rock Collecting (Let'S-Read-And-Find-Out Science. Stage 2)

Let's Go Rock Collecting (Let'S-Read-And-Find-Out Science. Stage 2)

This book gets you serious about rock collecting. It gives you an idea of where you can store the rocks you collect. Long time ago, when a relative visited Bombay, he brought home some rocks as collectibles. They were very colorful and appetising as sweets. You learn about different kinds of rocks found in different places. Greek statues. Roman cobble streets. Pyramids of sandstone. When you see granite, mabrle and other pictures of rocks, you can point your kids to the examples of where you can find them.
I like how this book steers kids to bigger, complex concepts of architecture under the easy pathof simple rocks.

In the Rainforest (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)

In the Rainforest (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)

This book gives you a very good idea about what to expect in a rainforest. It gives you a good detail pn the different kinds of trees and animal species that you will find there. Epiphytes. Understory, Emergent story. Marching Ants.

The Skeleton Inside You (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)

The Skeleton Inside You (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)

I like dthis book for its metaphorical approach of a bare-bones chair as a skeleton compared to a fabric fitted sofa chair.
Showing soft catilage in nose and ear vs hard bones which break from a fall.
Starting and ending with the Halloween skeleton costume is an interesting idea.
Now I understand why my kid liked this book.

Arch dream

I woke up from a beautiful architectural dream.
By the side of a mountain lay such beautiful works.
It was cute to see all these manicured little arches

Better Selling Through Storytelling: The Essential Roadmap to Becoming a Revenue Rockstar

Better Selling Through Storytelling: The Essential Roadmap to Becoming a Revenue Rockstar

Loved this speech by the author John Livesay on not being afraid to learn new things, which lets you overcome fear.

What is the extra mile?

The extra mile is
the workout on a friday at the gym, when there is no one there.
Burning the midnight oil
It is the routine stuff, but taken care of everyday instead of the rushup before the final exam.
Adding weights  to jumping jacks
Lifting weights on one leg
jump rope dudes single leg jump
