Bridge in time

There were few villages located close by. They all had to help each other out. One day village A asked village B for help. The mayor decided to help out but first needed to figure out if he could support it. He found out that such a bridge had been built before in his village. He contacted the artisan and asked if she was interested in helping out. This bridge was going to be a part of bigger bridge, so all the materials had to be same as the bridge units from various villages.
This artisan went to another community and found out what the bridge was being made with. The state building codes required a new material to be used. Since the company making a connector material was down, the community had been using some makeshift material. The mayor asked the artisan to find out from the other contractor if they could move to the new material. The contractor replied that they now have funds to get the material from another place.
The artisan took on the job, everyone moved to the latest material and the brdige got done in time.

Dynamic pricing

Dynamic pricing  is the buzz. You leave extra revenue on the table, if the stock is less and you wont prize high or you have more stock and you wont price it less,

Will only one leader do?

If an organisation has to be in synchrony, the values should be modeled not just by CEO but all the leaders down to the last employee.

Wouldnt burning oars do?

When I was little, I had to incorporate an idiom into a sentence.

"eru daati theppa thagalbettinattu"

to burn an oar after crossing the river

I used it in an example as tearing your bus ticket after a trip. I did understand that it didnt totally get to the idiom's saying of makign something useless to self/others after having benefited from it. By tearing a useless ticket, you dont capture the essence of this idiom.

From the motivational point of burning boats, wouldnt just burning oars do? Or you would find poles from the forest and quickly make make-shift oars? or may be your enemies would do that?

Fitness Now

Just learned about Soi Ta-iad fitness village in Phuket, Thailand.
About my own fitness story. I started P90x on alternate weekends about 4 months ago. Reached my first goal of second pre-pregnancy weight.
BMI next.

I started exercising on weekends too, my Achilles heel. Thanks popsugar. That is where I first heard of Muy Thai too.

In P90x3, when I had to do plow which is halasana, I felt nostalgic about the times that I could do it. Did some research and found that, I should learn sarvangasana first.

Fr the last 3 days, have been using the wall for sarvangasana, all that inverted blood feels so good, after a workout in a warm body.

10 minutes of Cardio Abs and then its sweat time. After this pure cardio. I was shooting for 20 mins of it, but the flow of the video is good, I did a few minutes extra. Its almost like a quick dance.

Looks like

Saying good morning to everything, with my kid, to make her ride to summer camp interesting, I told her about the heart shaped cactus. Its not thay I havent seen such photos before. Once I saw a heart shaped prickly pear cactus and had this why dont I ever see such things.
Today I picked up a stethoscope coiled into a heart decal on the back of a car.
How long do you think it takes to go on a road and pick out a new establishment that is being built. I took about 5 rides to realise a new icecream shop.

greater than

With kids, baby and not a baby is an eternal debate. in one such number 5 got started and my kids started saying 5 is bigger.
I said "than"
5 is bigger than?
I heard "7 is bigger"
I said "than" again
7 is bigger than?
And then there wa a countdown of numbers.

Later on the computer, my kid wanted to know what the < and > buttons were for.
It was easy to recall the earlier conversation and give examples of 5<6 8="" and="">7.

Not all quandaries have such fast closure, do they?

If you snore

Little one complained that she wont be able to fall asleep, if I snore. I told her, I have the same issue and that I wake up the person snoring, which is enough time to fall back into sleep.
Lets give it a try. I will pretend to snore, you can wake me and then you can fall asleep. She took turns. Wow.

Imagine a dainty chair tied to a car
A metal chair with wood in between
A chair with backside to the front kind of like the shirt that made to lok like you wore it inside out..

On the top of the car, was a folded stroller

The Essence of Idli

This morning my daughter wanted idli. decades ago, if a child asked for this, it would have to wait another day for the wish to be fulfilled or if the mother stored the batter in the fridge, then it could be catered to right away. If there is a store selling batter, thats a good situation too.
We looked up recipes and gave this one a try. In the first batch I forgot to add baking soda and no surprise, it didnt fluff. In the second round, the idlis did turn out fluffy. My father was surprised how we were going to have idlis without previous day's preparation. My husband looking at the idlis being cooked in the pressure cooker without the whistle on, wondered if I forgot to put it on. I told him that this is how it is done. I remember from my mom's cooking that you have to wait for 10 min. My daughter started looking at the timer and told me when it was time. For a good measure, I wanted then to wait for another 2 min. Then they questioned my 10 min timing.

In the end we had soft idlis. Everyone was very happy. I understood the essence of idli is not the flour with which it is made but the fluffiness and its softness, like the bread smells like yeast.
Later, I asked my daughter about the recipe and now idli as she knows it has suji and yogurt in it. Wonder if my mom would balk at this or if her ancestors made it some other way.
