Looking at my Garmin vivofit, my colleague was surprised to find that you see the steps finished all the time unlike his, where he has to press the button to see how many steps he has done. Initially it felt redundant that I was tracking steps but when it is times like stressful project when ther will not be enough time for exercise, then it is very handy to see how many steps you have done. Another thing while tracking to remember is that during strenuous activity when you count the step, you might get inflated sense that you worked out a lot, where you are double counting some of the activity. An important point to remember in the dashboard frenzy, where we have metrics for everything, to nor double count the same thing.

The title foreshadows the story. 

Very creative use of the unicycle and clothespins to make a steering wheel for the ship.

The kids realised how bossy the pirate was and how the mermaid transformed him into a collaborative pirate where anyone can give orders, and anybody can contribute maps. I loved the natural segue between the attic and the ocean, between reality and imagination. The number of pages could have been reduced. Good lesson to remember. Lots of nautical words learned. I didnt know yardarm and scuttlebutt.
