I was so pulled between these two books. I already had a big stack collected for the week. Luckily or unluckily for me, some other reader lightened my burden by choosing the wolf book.
What to do with summer?
With summer approaching, the teens have their
summer camp and activities in place. Haley’s summer is about to take a
storm-chaser pace trying to do justice and more to the alien detection
fellowship she has won.
The description is fruitful. With details down
to the sawdust in the barn, the scenes are easy to transport you into Haley’s
world. The author has successfully created characters that you want to protect
and keep out of harm’s way in the adventures.
It is easy to see why the book has gone into
many pages. But after about 140 pages, I felt that with the introduction of two
brand new characters, the book would have done better split into a sequel.
Like Abhimanyu's character, she has gone into a mission and cant turn back.

At Tempe public library, we attended Craig Davis Magic show and show. When we got to the library, we were half an hour late. But because of the popular demand they had another show an hour later.
There was a mom with brown purse which was a huge rose with big petals. She and her son were singing the Popcorn rhyme.

Stack bread at Met.
I started following museums on Twitter. Wonder why I didnt start earlier.
This reminds me of Bike stands and a place where the racks form the back of a cycle. Giant toast rack for the giant rabbit statues around.

Rats in charge
Have you seen the
movie Rush Hour? Imagine the setting in Chinatown
with two brothers, Fred and Ishbu - rats. Unlike the kid in the movie, its the
adult who is MIA and the kids have a mystery to solve. The
way Fred lists the clues known to him reminds me of questions from an entrance
exam for MBA program where you have to think fast. A frenzy begins. Their journey leads them to the
famous Loch Ness and further. They meet a secret clan of badgers. Whenever you
enter a foreign territory you have to prove yourself. In ‘Koi and the Kola
nuts’ Koi has to prove his mettle to a new tribe by solving three problems but
these siblings have five tasks to solve before they can be ordained into the
clan.
The integrity of the
rat story in the human world is maintained very well without human interference
in the story. The chapter breaks are comfortably spaced for children with each
not running more than 3 pages. There is never a dull moment in the story.
I havent read the
first book in the series but that didn’t see to matter in going on a worldwide
tour with the pals with tails.

There should be a class called Explorers.
Why animal stories?
This afternoon I saw a cartoon on qubo about a cow couple, their horns jutting out of their hats, corn with the husk as a collar, Lucy the cat with unnatural eyes. The above story of rats could have been written with people.
This book lists Loch Ness as one of the places that cab change your child's life.

Primary education
The primary education talked of a truck farm in 1920 referring to industrial scale. But now a real Truck farm. over the weekend, I saw a hotdog metal box on wheels being driven on freeway as a tag along. At Hawaii festival they had chickens in rotisserie in what looked like the back of a low truck.
